Product Definition - begins within initial requirements gathering, development of a proposal including timing, resources, materials and costing.
Product design takes the requirements, definition and proposal and translates them into an agreed project scope from which a technical specification can be written. Upon agreement, a working prototype can be designed and developed.
On completion of a working prototype, all the necessary manufacturing documentation and files are completed and product manufacturers are engaged.
